The Boulder
Today I am a boulder in a river.
I am heavy and I am still.
I am older.
I am bigger.
I do not move at will.
Today I will let the river rush me.
I will part the water lying here.
It is better.
You can trust me.
I'll be safe my dear.
Today I stay put in the river bed.
I'm letting life flow past.
My eyes are shut.
I rest my head.
Life has come at me too fast.
Day 2 of my #Inktober poetry challenge. If you like it, let me know and feel free to share!
