I'm sorry,

I really am, 

I'd love to help you process this, 

But I just don't understand.

I haven't been there, 

Haven't seen it,

I haven't learnt the empathy.

I just don't know how to know you, 

How to see you, 

I would love to.

But instead I'll hold your hand, 

I can't be your sword, 

You need that.

But I'd try to be your shield.

Maybe I can help.

I won't try to make you happy,

I could simply be your friend.
