Language
“Oh, just nuke it.”
Remember how that was scary?
Now quick heat is just convenience,
Easy conventional at-home science.
“That tweet is awful.”
Once an awful to speak
To an innocent bird celebrating morning.
Now, a sensible social-media warning.
“This might go viral.”
It was so vital to stop it,
Now we celebrate it obsessively,
Before forgetting it collectively.
“It’s only spam again.”
Once, a full dinner, but then
It becomes synonymous with dodgy,
Or anonymous, mischievous trickery.
“There’s no such thing as evolution.”
A distraction of dangerous ideology.
But it’s easier to ignore the bored,
When language is evolving to exactly what we need it for.
